Simply Charlotte Mason is a Christian curriculum for grades K - 12. This curriculum is great for families with multiple ages as students can study some subjects together and then have time for individual studies.
Parents start by choosing an historical time period for all students to study together. This is provided on a six year cycle. This means that if you follow the program from first grade all the way to the end, you will go through all of history twice - starting with Creation through to modern day. This portion also covers geography and Bible studies.
The next step is to add Enrichment studies. These can include Bible memory, Picture, Music, and Hymn Study, as well as Handicrafts, Nature Study, Poetry, and more! Finish the day with Individual studies such as Math, Language Arts, and Science. Although this sounds like a lot of work, it’s actually intended to be short lessons of 5 to 30 minutes each. An example schedule is available on the website to help you visualize what that would look like.
This company also offers lots of additional features - such as an online lesson planner, a plethora of videos and audio recording to support and encourage parents, and an annual in-person retreat / conference.
